[Abkürzung für englisch European Force »Europäische Eingreiftruppe«], am 9. 11. 1996 offiziell in Dienst gestellter militärischer Eingreifverband für den sofortigen Einsatz im Mittelmeergebiet, dem Fallschirmjäger und Bodentruppen sowie Marineverbände (unter der Bezeichnung Euromarfor) aus Frankreich, Spanien, Portugal und Italien angehören. Der Verband mit Hauptquartier in Florenz soll ab 1997 einsatzfähig sein und insgesamt rd. 15 000 Mann umfassen. In der militärischen Führung wechseln sich die vier beteiligten Staaten ab. Eurofor untersteht der Westeuropäischen Union, ist für humanitäre Einsätze sowie Missionen zur Friedenssicherung und Konfliktbewältigung vorgesehen und soll mit den Vereinten Nationen und der NATO zusammenarbeiten.
